There is a combination of mixed broadleaf mature trees and some self-set around Worthington Ponds (see area outlined in red on attached plan 1). We prose to tidy this area up which will involve removing less than 15m3 of timber which will be less than 10% of the total amount of timber on site. All mature good quality trees will be kept, all self sets and some understory will be removed in order to tidy the area and provide the remaining trees with better growing conditions as well as allowing more light onto the ponds. Some trees are dead/diseased or have broken and these will be removed. No restocking will be required as we are essentially tidying/thinning.
